I was just listening to 6-16-74 Des Moines, and could'nt get over the smokin transiton between Eyes and Big River. I was just wondering if there were other transitions recommended. Not so much the bread and butter transitons like china>rider and scarlet>fire but ones alittle more out of the ordinary.

thanx to everyone at the arcive

Check out the Truckin>Eyes transition from 7-14-81, it's about 45 seconds of Jerry soloing while the rest of the boys just sit back and listen.

also 1-22-78, the Jerry Close Encounters jam between the Other One and St Stephen, is of course epic and one of the classics of all time.

Try 11/7/71. The "The Other One -> Me and My Uncle -> The Other one" is quite spectacular.

How about "Beautiful Jam" from Dark Star>Wharf Rat>Dark Star (it's played from the transition back into Dark Star)....2/18/71 at the Capitol Theater in Port Chester, NY (one of the ESP Shows). It's also on the "So Many Roads" compilation.
Definitely, in my opinion, one of Jerry's finest moments. 4-5 minutes of pure bliss. Check it out!

go to

www.rukind.com

it gives a few choices- stay on the rukind site and use theirs- under song title put "jam"

it prints out all the shows where the notation was "jam"

So many to chose from but I would have to put my money on Dark Star>Cumberland Blues, Stanley Theater, Jersey City, New Jersey 9/27/72 i.e Dick's Picks 11. For a none Dick's Picks a tasty choice is Spanish Jam>EYOTW from 7/19/74.

You don't need to focus on transitions for 6/9/77.

It is one of the greatest shows of all time, from any perspective. Songs, energy, transitions, tone, etc...

Put it on, light one up, and listen - we're talking epic music.

Cheers!
